Seed, mulch, fertilize and water...
If you need to install a new lawn for your home or commercial property, there's no better way to do it than by hydro-seeding. Hydro-seeding is an application process in which seed, fertilizer, mulch and water are mixed together and applied over prepared soil.

Healthier grass faster and cost effective
What makes hydro-seeding the best approach for installing a new lawn? The seed coverage is thick and consistent. It's also more resistant to disease and requires less watering than other types of turf installation. In addition, the chances of erosion with hydro-seeding are more remote than with normal seeding. The planting season can extend from April to November.

Proper Care for a Hydro-seeded Lawn
    • Water - all hydro-seeded areas in the morning and evening approximately 1/2 hour in each area until growth is established, (7 to 10 days depending on weather). Then cut back to just morning watering. Note: evening watering should be done early enough so grass can dry out before dark, approximately 5-7pm.
    • Cut - at 3" (do not let growth exceed 5" before cutting). Cutting weekly (if at least 3") promotes growth and discourages weed growth. Do not bag clippings; they supply nutrients and seed.
    • Fertilize - every 4 weeks for two years throughout April-October. Recommended concentration is 7 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. of 19-19-19 fertilizer.  See your local municipality for possible phosphate restrictions.
    • Weed Control - May and August are the times to get rid of weeds. We recommend that you apply a weed control whether you have a weed problem or not (granular or liquid method).
    • Crab Grass Control - Apply Pre-Emergent Crab Grass Control, one time per year in late March or early April.
Details About the Hydro-seeding Process
Applegate Mulch with Tactifier (bonding glue)
    • Composed of weed-free recycled cellulose fiber
    • Retains up to 10 times its weight in water
    • Provides an "insulated blanket" to protect seeds from fluctuating temperatures and scorching sun
    • Forms a perfect environment for maximum germination
    • As the lawn is established, mulch fibers decompose and add nourishment to the young plant

Seed
    • Premium Kentucky Bluegrass blends
      • Sunny blend
      • Shady blend
      • Commercial blend
    • Highest quality hydro-grass seed available

Fertilizer

    • Slow release, over a six week span
    • Accelerates growth
    • Establishes strong root base
    • Nourishes grass, infancy through maturity

Soil preparation
    • Most critical part of seeding process
    • Balance site
      • Bulldozing (Grading with site specific equipment)
      • Mechanical and hand raking as needed
    • De-rocking
